Note from RedLibrary: This is a preface written by the Communist Party of Peru for the 1939 work In Memory of Norman Bethune by Mao Zedong.

Today we spread, both within the country and abroad, Chairman Mao Zedong’s document from Volume II, In Memory of Norman Bethune, as part of CIPO,² and… the study order. It is important to understand that these teachings from the Chinese Revolution, which Chairman Gonzalo applied here in our country, were also applied by the CPP both in the Health Departments and during the Third Plenum. Chairman Gonzalo emphasized the role of healthcare, and within the CPP, many doctors of a new type have sacrificed their lives, dedicating their work to the revolution and the true transformation of the world. In tribute to them and to Comrade Norman Bethune, we reaffirm our commitment to provide support when the People’s War requires it, knowing that blood doesn’t drown the revolution, but instead waters it. Their dedicated lives serve as standards that illuminate the victorious road of the triumphant revolution. Today, in the General Reorganization of the Party, we continue with a high degree of communist commitment and sacrifice.
